Delivered

  • Current conditions, moon phase and illumination, sunrise and sunset, the James River live feed — all from live public data
  • 8-hour and 7-day forecasts with share links and a PDF download
  • Toonami-inspired, CRT-flavoured design that stays honest: no decorative 'detections' that aren't happening
  • A colour-keyed channel-guide system for curating local creators as stations
  • Home of the daily 'Today in RVA' social format

01The brief

A local-media brand for the 804 built around the two things every Richmonder checks: the weather and the river. It should feel like flipping on a late-night cable channel, not opening a weather app.

02What I built

A single-page broadcast: current temperature, sky, humidity and wind; moon phase and illumination; sunrise and sunset; the James River live feed; 8-hour and 7-day forecasts; share links and a PDF download; and a color-keyed channel-guide system for curating local creators. All of it in a deep-space, CRT-scanline aesthetic with honest UI only — no decorative 'detections' that aren't happening.

03Outcome

Live at rva.today and the home of a daily 'Today in RVA' social format.
